4 Ways To Soothe Dry Winter Skin

It happens every year – brutal winter weather whips around your skin until it’s raw and dry. Chilling winds, low temperatures, and indoor heating – if your skin isn’t fully irritated by winter conditions, it’s at the very least in a bad mood. To combat the dreaded dry face, we’ve got four ways to soothe your winter skin, restore moisture, and protect it from further damage:

1. Use a humidifier

Forced-air heaters blast the moisture out of skin during winter-time, stripping important oils and often resulting in itchy skin. Try counteracting these drying effects by blowing a warm- or cool-mist humidifier. Re-introducing moisture into the air helps soothe and calm irritated skin. (Health)

2. Step up with your moisturizer

Recap of the Makeup used at the Grammys

The Makeup Artists for some of the celebrities at the Grammys really understood that focusing on strong features is the key to highlighting beauty. Here’s a list of some of the celebrities that caught our eye:

Taylor Swift:

Taylor went with a smokey eye with just a hint of a teal color. An eye pencil over black could achieve a similar look. Going against her habit of using red lipstick, she instead decided on pink instead. Not using her signature red lipstick really did make stand out and she looked adorable. A little bit of blush on her cheeks finished off a great look.

Rihanna:

With her minimalist makeup on, it almost made you think she had woken up straight out of bed if you didn’t pay attention to the finer details. Her makeup added a light bronze and made her face glow. She had her skin highlighted and her cheeks really stood out. Neutral lips sealed the deal and made her look beautiful.

Other standouts:

Ariane Grande really went all out with the defined cat eye. Hey eyes were the main focus here, and her lips were mostly neutral, not leaning towards pink or red.

Lady Gaga always goes against the norm but what we really appreciated was her eyeshadow. Going for a green eyeshadow and making it work takes guts, but she pulled it off brilliantly.

Gwen Stefani is also known for her red lipstick, and ditched it for a muted pink color. This kind of pale pink lipstick seems to becoming a new trend if the Grammy’s have anything to say about it.

Events For February 2015

Our First Event is “Heart Health Acupuncture Circle” which is $35 for 90 minutes on Thursday, February 5th at 7PM. You will receive a full acupuncture session in the comfort of a group atmosphere. Our Fourth Event is “Introduction to Tai Chi Workshop” which is $30 for 90 minutes on Tuesday, February 17th at 6:30PM. Introduce your body to the ancient benefits of Tai Chi theory and practice in this beginners workshop where you will learn the full form of Tai Chi movements and proper form along with the basic Chi Gong movements. We will focus on the cultivation of Qi, through specific breathing techniques. Qi can be described as the “Life-force Energy” at the foundation of all matter. The cultivation of Qi enhances focus, vitality, alertness, strength, and balance; with a myriad of other clinically tested, health benefits.

Our Fifth Event is “Chakra Cleansing Circle with Guided Massage” which is $25 for 75 minutes on Wednesday, February 18th at 6:45pm-8pm. Releasing stuck energy in the chakras through breathwork and guided imagery can be very powerful. Experience chakra cleansing followed by connecting with each other through a guided massage. The entire experience will leave you feeling centered and relaxed.

Our Sixth Event is “Empowerment Workshop: Find Love! Land a Job! Or get promoted in 2015!” which is $37 on Monday, February 23rd at 7pm. Space is Very Limited So Act Now! Our Eighth Event is “Love your Brows Workshop” which is $25 per person on Thursday, February 26th. Reserve your 30 minute from 6-830pm. Allow our Eyebrow Expert to re-shape your brows (choose from pain free lavender wax or tweeze) to best match your facial structure.  She will then teach you how to best care for and maintain your brows to best frame your face.
