SELF MAGAZINE Agrees with our Green Spa Experts!!!  They NAMED OUR EMINENCE RED CURRANT RAPID INFUSION MASQUE A HEALTHY BEAUTY AWARD WINNER!

Self Magazine tried and tested thousands of beauty products in search of their 2014 Healthy Beauty Award winners. And, we’re excited to announce, our Red Currant Rapid Infusion Masque has won in the “Mask” category!

“Made of a combination of natural alpha hydroxy acids to exfoliate—lemon, passion fruit, grape, pineapple—plus honey to nourish, it sounds like a smoothie but performs like a facial (just faster)” says Self Magazine’s April Franzino.

One of Self Magazine’s readers raved that our Red Currant Rapid Infusion Masque ”felt like a spa treatment at home, but only took two or three minutes to work” and she loved that her face “felt refreshed and rejuvenated, and appeared hydrated with more elasticity”.

Thanks Self!

An Invitation from the Universe

This is an invitation from the universe to join me, Sheila Brody, The Founder of The Green Spa & Wellness Center on an amazing journey toward enlightenment this week on Thursday Evening  12-20-12.

Everyone has been talking about this dreaded December 21st, or last day recorded on the Mayan Calendar. I kept hearing about this date and hearing everyone’s philosophies, thoughts and ideas of what was going to happen to us. Is this really the end of our existence, predicted thousands of years ago? Written in the stars? So I had to go and see for myself and ask someone, but Who to ask, who has these answers?

The Mayans do of coarse, so off I go to Tulum Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula- The Birthplace of the Mayan Calendar, the so-called date associated with “the end of the world”.  My Journey started when I received an invitation to speak about The Powers of Feng Shui & to facilitate group morning meditations aboard the first inaugural Law of Attraction Cruise Conference.  We spent a life-changing week aboard The Jewel of The Seas and sailed across the Deep Blue, empowering others and teaching the art of LETTING GO OF NEGATIVITY! Think & act positively and watch all your negative behaviors, life circumstances and people fall by the waste side. We literally cast away fear, anxiety, self-doubt and replaced those feelings with confidence, trust and clarity. What a better date than 12-12-12 to visit the Mayan Ruins and spend time with the indigenous people and get all the answers we all have been in search of to share with all of you!

Won’t you join us this Thursday, on the eve of the Winter Solstice & the last day of old thinking and behavior as we welcome in the positivity, enlightenment and Powerful New Beginnings within!

This Meditative Acupuncture Circle & Workshop draws upon the powerful transformative energy of the Winter Solstice, delving deeply into the theme of letting go of the old and initiating change to bring in the new. Participants will benefit from a unique blend of healing modalities, including a Classical Acupuncture treatment, within the enhanced energy of the group, fostering clarity and insight into what you truly want to attract into your Life. The symbolism of the Tarot will be explored through guided meditation, as a way to gain access to your gifts and deepest potential. In this space of profound healing, you will be supported to move forward into the New Year with a deeper connection to your Self, and with renewed purpose and energy.

The workshop will open with the ringing of Tibetan bells and Meditation at 7pm on 12-20-12, please arrive early.  A tea ceremony is included offering an ancient Daoist formula for self-transformation.

Acupuncture Workshop/Circles are 2 Hours in length, 7pm-9pm

$65 per person, series of 5 life changing circles $325 or $55 each.

Motivation Mondays with Orly Amor!

The Universe is guiding you and communicating with you every second of your life it is responding to your thoughts and it is giving you invaluable feedback through your feelings. Your feelings are cosmic communication!  The good feelings mean, GOOD FOR YOU. The bad feelings are to get your attention so that you will change what you are focusing on. Tune into that cosmic communication that is with you every day. You are never alone, not for a second.  The Universe is right with you at every step, guiding you.  But you have to listen!

“People’s behavior always makes sense to them.” – UNKNOWN

We all have a sixth sense that we deliberately labeled it “The Sixth Sense”.  It is that hunch when we know we should follow and we don’t and then we kick ourselves and say “I knew it.”  Follow that hunch it will never fail you.  You can take that to the bank.

Jerome Burdi

Jerome Burdi is on the path of the yogi and wants you to come along. After working as a newspaper reporter for years covering crime in New York City and South Florida’s worst neighborhoods he found a higher calling through yoga. It began with a shamanic retreat in Brazil in 2010 where everyday started off with yoga. Before that Jerome never considered practicing yoga let alone teaching it.

During the trip to Brazil, Jerome’s consciousness awakened. From there he went on a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation to learn the technique used by the Buddha. Then Jerome left his life in newspapers and went to India to study yoga. Now his job is to deepen his practice and share it with students; to embrace this journey together through yoga postures that increase strength and flexibility, but most importantly, to include the meditative aspects of yoga.

“The meditation will increase your awareness and equanimity. Through this you find a happiness that never wavers. But it takes time and devoted practice to get there. Be patient and gentle with yourself. Miracles happen gradually. Om shanti, shanti, shanti.”

Conrad Sparnroft

I have been studying Tai Chi for 21 years and I continue to do so today. I study Tai Chi with Sal Giglio from the Staten Island Kick Boxing Tae Kwon Do & Tai Chi Chaun Center. Mr. Giglio was a former student of both Cheng Man-Ching and Larry Galante(Cheng’s student). In addition to my certificate in Tai Chi, I am a first degree black belt in Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do and a black belt in Kickboxing. The journey as a student of Martial Arts never stops and I am currently studying Judo with Sensei Joaquin Gonzalez. I recently became a yellow belt in Judo.

Tai Chi Description

Tai Chi is a 1,000 year old Chinese martial art which over the last 40 years has become a phenomenon due to its health benefits. Tai Chi focuses on abdominal breathing while performing moving meditations, which are called postures. Tai Chi practitioners progress from one posture to the next in a slow, fluid motion. These postures comprise the “form” which is similar to “kata” in karate. Unlike karate which has many forms, there is only one form in Tai Chi which takes a few months to learn and decades to master. There are only five major classical types(based on the family names) of Tai Chi. We will be studying the Yang short form which was developed by Cheng Man-Ching. Cheng Man-Ching brought Tai Chi to the United States in the 1960’s. He is credited to shortening the form to 10 minutes instead of 30 minutes, which led to Tai Chi’s popularity in this country. Tai Chi practitioners usually do Tai Chi in the morning and at night. I highly recommend practicing as much as possible!

Class Description

A typical one hour class will consist of stretching(10 min.), learning the
form(25 min.), learning how to “let go of the negative”(5 min.), two person
Push Hands(15 min.) and some Chi Kung breathing techniques(5 min.).
