I just celebrated my birthday and as I was blowing out my candles I immediately thought about my wife’s birthday and then our upcoming twenty-five-year anniversary celebration of being in business and…..
I almost out loud said STOP. Life is not just going from planning one thing to planning the next. What about all the breaths in between?
And I took a breath. I reminded myself of all the reasons, seasons, and times that we are not celebrating and decided right then to celebrate the moment for no particular reason at all. How would I celebrate this moment? What would have to happen for me to just be in celebration of life? What would that look like? And it inspired me to share it with you.
I wanted to share with you the beauty in celebrating the in-between or the times between the celebrations of life. Basically, when we celebrate the seemingness of nothingness, that is the true joy of life. Being awake, conscious, and aware of the present moment and the present inside the nothingness of the everyday. That is where the true beauty lies. When you are not blowing out candles, remember there is so much beauty in the present moment of now. And the way to explore that is to ask yourself the same questions I did and then follow your guidance.
Life is a journey full of ups and downs, successes and failures, and transformations. While we often celebrate significant milestones in our lives, it’s important to recognize that much of our lives happen during the times between those milestones. These times between the big moments are just as important as the milestones themselves. In this blog post, we’ll explore the importance of celebrating the times between and present moment awareness.
What is so significant about the ordinary?
The times between are the “ordinary” moments when we are not celebrating a milestone or achieving a goal. They are the spaces in between the big moments, where life happens in its most raw and unfiltered form. These times could be anything from waiting in line at the grocery store to sitting in traffic during a commute. They are moments of stillness and transition, where we are often left with our own thoughts and reflections.
Why Celebrate the “Ordinary”?
Celebrating the times between is about recognizing and cherishing these ordinary moments. It’s about finding joy and gratitude in the present moment, rather than constantly chasing the next big achievement. By taking the time to appreciate the times between, we can find peace, contentment, and fulfillment in the small moments of life.
The Importance of Present Moment Awareness
To truly appreciate the times between, we need to practice present-moment awareness. Present moment awareness is the ability to be fully present and engaged in the current moment, without worrying about the past or future. It’s about being mindful of our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings.
Practicing present-moment awareness can have a profound impact on our lives. It can help us to reduce stress and anxiety, improve our relationships, and increase our overall happiness and well-being. By being fully present in the times between, we can find joy and beauty in even the most mundane moments.
How to Celebrate the (not so) Ordinary Times Between Celebrating the times between can be as simple as taking a few moments to pause and appreciate the present moment. It could be a deep breath, a moment of meditation, or a simple expression of gratitude. By focusing on the present moment and allowing ourselves to fully experience it, we can find beauty and joy in even the most mundane moments.
In conclusion, celebrating the times between and practicing present-moment awareness can have a profound impact on our lives. By taking the time to appreciate the present moment, we can find joy and beauty in even the most mundane moments. So, the next time you find yourself in a time between, take a moment to pause, breathe, and appreciate the present moment.
